This session will focus on the internal political economy of Syria’s transition—exploring the evolving role of the state, the impact of neoliberal reforms, dynamics of war-related capitalism, and the uneven patterns of participation and exclusion emerging in reconstruction efforts. We will ask: What kind of political economy is being restructured in Syria, and for whom?
This is the third session in our joint series titled "Politics of Transition: Syria in Comparative Perspectives", which brings together Syrian and international scholars to reflect on the political, social, and economic dynamics shaping Syria’s post-conflict trajectory.
