We present the first episode of a new podcast series entitled “Jalsa Sudaniya” on The Fight to Revive Sudan's Healthcare Amidst War. This episode, hosted by Noor Salaheldin Elfaki, podcast curator and medical student at the University of Khartoum, delves into the severe impact of Sudan's ongoing conflict on its healthcare system, highlighting the rapid decline of a once-vital infrastructure. Featuring Dr. Safa Elkrail, Public Health Consultant and Program Coordinator at Angel Kids Foundation (USA); Dr. Abdulazim Awadalla, Program Manager at Sudanese American Physicians Association(SAPA); and Dr. Mehad Nasreldin, Community Medicine Physician and Founder of the SMAFRICA initiative, the episode examines the destruction of medical facilities, critical shortages of supplies, and the displacement of healthcare professionals. Additionally, it explores the efforts of local and international organizations to restore essential health services amidst the ongoing conflict, providing a thorough understanding of the challenges and the resilience of those working to rebuild Sudan's healthcare system.
