Samar Khalil is an environmental management specialist with 19+ years of experience in integrated environmental management, including waste management, environmental economics, cleaner production, pollution abatement, environmental impact assessment and auditing, occupational health and safety, risk assessment, industrial hygiene, and control of hazardous substances. She has 12 years of experience in managing international development projects and leading multidisciplinary teams. She worked in the academic, public and private sectors, and consulted with international organizations. She has many years of experience in networking with stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation, research, report writing, and oral presentation. She has a deep knowledge of national environmental policies and regulations and sectoral knowledge of regional regulations, after having worked in Lebanon and the region—including Jordan, Syria, and Tunisia—over the past two decades. She is actively working with civil society organizations pushing for sound environmental policies.
