Webinar Female Agricultural Workers:  At the Heart of Food Security while Deprived of Basic Rights

DATE: Tuesday 23 March 2021 / 2pm (Tunis)

Agriculture is the only economic sector that did not enter into recession in 2020. This is partly thanks to the work of vulnerable rural women. Their demands for safe means of transport to and from work, as well as equal pay, social security, health insurance, and decent and secure working conditions, have not yet been met despite the efforts of civil society. The COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated the hardship of female agricultural workers while proving their centrality for Tunisia’s food security.

In this webinar, we will discuss the difficulties faced by female agricultural workers and the policy progress that remains to be done for them to work safely. We will also compare the case of Tunisia with that of Morocco, where female agricultural workers face similar problems.

You can register to attend by following this link. You will receive a Zoom confirmation email should your registration be successful. Alternatively, you can watch the event live on our Facebook page.

This webinar will be in Arabic only with no translation available.
