Rukaia Al-Abadi is a Syrian independent investigative journalist specializing in environmental and climate issues in conflict-affected areas of Syria. Through investigative reporting and open-source research methods (OSINT), she explores how war, corruption, and climate crises intersect to shape the lives of vulnerable communities—particularly women.

She is a fellow with the Oxford Climate Journalism Network and a recipient of the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press. Her work has also been shortlisted for the Fetisov Journalism Awards, as well as the Climate School and Greenpeace Award for Climate Justice.
