
Rola Khaled Youssef
Rola Khaled is a PhD holder and researcher in communication studies at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Catholic University of Portugal. She obtained her master’s degree in strategic marketing communication at the University of Greenwich, UK. She has long-standing professional experience in marketing communication, branding, and public relations. Her PhD research addresses online activism and social media implications for socio-political activism among young women in Saudi Arabia. She is particularly interested in Middle Eastern studies, religious and political communication, political activism, women studies, feminist movements, digital propaganda, political Islam, and gender roles in political and social activism, with a particular focus on the Middle East. She is a researcher affiliated with the CEPCEP-Centre for the Study of Portuguese-Speaking People and Cultures in Portugal and CEEC- Centre for communication and culture study.
