Osama Abu Bakr

Osama Abu Bakr is a Political Researcher and Director of the Center for Research on Good Governance and Capacity Building. He was previously a researcher at the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan and worked for 15 years as a researcher at the Sudanese Research Center. He has also received the Professional Journalists Prize from the National Council for Press. Osama is a doctoral student in political science at Cairo University and holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Khartoum. He has participated in a number of trainings, including the Social Accountability Program organized by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and anti-corruption courses. Osama is actively involved with anti-corruption organizations in the Arab region and social change movements. He is interested in the studies of political Islam, having obtained a fellowship in combating terrorism from the Center for Strategic and Future Studies in Cairo. He is also active in the Social Accountability and Good Governance Program. He received a scholarship from the American University in Cairo under the “Development Economic for Future Generations – Senior Leadership Program”.
