Graphic Designer (Part-Time)

Job Description Position: Graphic Designer Reports to: ARI Head of Publications and Communications Location: Beirut, Tunis, other locations also considered Duration: Part time consultancy (at least 50% time), 12 months (renewable) Reference: ARI-GD Organization Overview The Arab Reform Initiative is a leading independent think tank that promotes a home-grown agenda for democratic change and social justice in Arab countries. ARI conducts policy analysis and innovative field research, combines scholarly work and advocacy, and acts as a policy platform for emerging voices from the region. Scope of Work ARI is hiring a part-time Graphic Designer to be in charge of visual outputs relating to publications, convenings, press releases, and any other outputs as necessary. The graphic designer will also be expected to handle some basic multimedia tasks (smoothing recordings of webinars, creating short video clips inspired from longer videos for posting on social media and the ARI website). The Graphic Designer will be responsible for coordinating the visual identity of ARI as it is represented through outputs, webinars, banners, videos, and any other such material wherein ARI is displayed. This includes producing visuals, formatting reports (using InDesign or other publication software), producing infographics, selecting photographs to accompany reports, and visual support for social media postings. The Graphic Designer reports to the ARI Head of Publications and Communications and works closely with the communications team, as well as with all ARI staff across France, Lebanon, and Tunisia. The role is for a period of 12 months, renewable upon discussion. Sepcific Responsibilities Video editing Smoothing recordings of webinars and ensuring high-quality reproducibility. Position: Intern (three positions available) Reports to: ARI Program and Communications Manager Location: Paris ∙ Beirut ∙ Tunis ∙ Online Duration: Minimum 4 months References: Environmental Politics: Intern-EV Communications: Intern-COM Tunisia and Tunisian Affairs: Intern-TN The Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) is a policy research centre whose key mission is to articulate a homegrown agenda for democratic change in Arab countries. It operates on the principles of impartiality, social justice, gender equality, and diversity. It conducts policy analysis and research, while providing a platform for inspirational voices and empowering young scholars and socially engaged youth. ARI is a hub for a network of Arab think tanks and works in partnership with international institutions. ARI engages academic research centres, think tanks, social movements, decision-makers, media and the public on issues of democratization and political transformation. ARI combines scholarly work and advocacy and produces practical intellectual tools to influence existing political transformation. It promotes sustained exchanges and dialogues on reform across the region and with outside partners. Job profile ARI is currently looking for three interns starting October 2021 (for at least 4 months and ideally 6). Interns will work with the entire ARI team on numerous different projects and activities and will be under the direction of the Programme and Communications Coordinator.
