Position Summary

The Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) is seeking a versatile, hands-on Communications & Multimedia Coordinator to join its Communications Department in Lebanon. The role brings together two skill sets: the coordination that keeps the department’s output running on time across ARI’s programs and projects, and the technical production skills to create a large share of that output directly.

The Coordinator will document and edit ARI’s video and photography, design visual assets, create content across ARI’s channels, and manage ARI’s online events. They will document ARI’s events and field activities in Lebanon and the region, turn webinars and long-form research into sharp, shareable content, and bring podcast and audiovisual editing in-house, while coordinating freelancers and field videographers when needed.

The Arab Reform Initiative is an independent regional policy institute working to advance democratic, just, and inclusive reform in the Arab region. ARI produces home-grown research, supports communities of practice, and connects knowledge generated in the region to policy and public debates at the regional and international levels.

Responsibilities

Design and content creation

  • Design graphics, social media assets, and visual materials in line with ARI’s brand identity, using the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva & Claude Design)
  • Create and publish content across ARI’s digital channels, adapting research and program output into formats suited to each platform and audience.
  • Develop, build, and distribute ARI’s newsletter, including layout and sending via Mailjet.

  • Coordinate production workflows, keeping deadlines, approvals, and deliverables on track.
  • Brief, coordinate, and quality-control the work of external freelancers and field videographers.
  • Track and report on analytics across ARI’s digital channels, turning performance data into insights that inform editorial and campaign decisions.

Multimedia production and editing

  • Turn ARI’s research, events, and conversations into engaging multimedia content, choosing the format that best fits each story, audience, and budget.
  • Capture video and photos at ARI events and activities, and record interviews and short pieces when needed, working with whatever equipment and setup the situation allows.

  • Bring ideas on how ARI can tell its stories visually, and find practical ways to make them happen.

Events, field coverage, and online events

  • Support ARI’s in-person events and conferences in Lebanon and the region, ensuring consistent brand visibility on-site, from signage and banners to printed and digital materials.
  • Run live social media coverage during events, posting real-time updates, quotes, photos, and short clips across ARI’s channels.
  • Capture photos, short videos, and quick interviews with speakers and participants for use during and after the event.
  • Lead post-event follow-up content, turning conferences into recaps, highlight videos, speaker clips, and social and newsletter features.
  • Manage ARI’s online events and webinars end to end, including platform setup, speaker briefings, live technical support, recording, and post-event content.
  • Plan and deliver event communications, from pre-event promotion through on-site or online coverage and follow-up.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, including the ability to design and adapt report layouts and templates.
  • Confident use of AI tools for visual, video, and audio production, and an interest in finding smarter, faster ways to produce quality content.
