This page serves as a digital showcase of the potent role young Tunisians play in shaping their country's future. Through a collaboration with our partners WEStart and GAM, this page presents a variety of multimedia outputs crafted by the youth of Kairouan and Kabaria. These outputs are not just forms of self-expression; they are powerful tools used to confront and dismantle stereotypes, foster dialogue, and promote understanding. By giving voice to their unique perspectives and concerns, these young creators actively participate in the political sphere, driving discussions and actions that influence policy and societal norms.

This page celebrates the power of youth engagement in politics, highlighting how their contributions help steer Tunisia towards a more inclusive and just society.

This documentary captures the progression and key milestones of this project. It incorporates collaborations with our partners WEStart and GAM, detailing the project's implementation phases. Through a focus on youth engagement with local councilors and their evolving views on democracy, the film chronologically highlights the impactful journey, culminating in a conference that discusses the enduring influence of youth in Tunisia's public sphere.

Générations Anti-Marginalisation (GAM) is a social association, which, since 2013, has been fighting to guarantee the cultural, social and economic rights of citizens in working-class neighborhoods and marginalized areas.

These two videos, filmed, edited and produced by the young people around GAM in the El Kabaria district, deal with two recurring problems in the lives of young people in the district: unemployment and the lack of decent public transport.

WeStart participants collaborated to produce, and publish engaging written and visual content showcasing various attractions of Kairouan. Their main goal was to showcase the region's appeal by presenting its renowned culinary and cultural sites in an informative and captivating manner.

In this phase of the project, young people are gathered in capacity building workshops , where, with the help of a media expert, they get to know more about geographic stigmatization in the media and how to create a counter narrative. In this video, the young people from Kairouan work on how to produce a counter narrative to “conservative, close-minded and boring” stigma surrounding their region in Tunisia.

WeStart participants developed a comprehensive 40-page promotional guide along with online posts. Designed as a valuable resource for tourists and Tunisians eager to discover Kairouan's most iconic and cherished spots, the guide draws on insights and information gathered from various workshops and captures the essence of this city.
