Rowaida Kanaan

Researcher and journalist

Rowaida Kanaan is a researcher, journalist, and data analyst. She is a political and feminist activist and a member of the Syrian Feminist Political Movement, a movement with members in various regions of Syria, as well as in neighboring countries, Europe, America, Canada, and elsewhere.

As a researcher, she has contributed to preparing policy papers on various topics such as elections, secularism, transitional governance, and the constitution, all from a women’s perspective. She has also worked on position papers on political issues from a feminist standpoint.

As a journalist, Rowaida has worked as a producer, and radio presenter, specifically addressing women’s rights, detainees, and children’s issues.

She holds a master’s degree in Digital Humanities from Paris 8 University.
