Director-General of the Culture and Free Thought Association (CFTA). Palestinian women’s human rights activist and advocate for women’s rights and democracy, she co-founded the Unified Women’s Council during the first Intifada. She has given testimonies before international commissions of inquiry on Israeli violations against Palestinian women. She has won several awards, including second-best female figure in civil and community work in the Arab World in 2016, the Creative Women in Feminist Action Award in 2017 and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs award for work in the field of Palestinian women in 2017.
