Karim CHOUKRI , an expert in renewable energy strategies and policy, has a distinguished career in the field of energy and sustainable development. He serves as Research Fellow with the Moroccan Institute of Policy Analysis in charge of Energy Policies and Strategies. He is is also, a professor researcher with Hassan II University of Casablanca in charge of lectures about Energy, Water and Sustainability. He has previously held the position of Head of the “Morocco-German Energy Partnership,” where he played a vital role in advancing renewable energy initiatives. With extensive knowledge and expertise in Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen, water desalination, and industry decarbonization, Dr. Choukri is at the forefront of cutting-edge research and innovation. His contributions to the sector include collaborations with prestigious organizations such as IRENA, GGGI, GIZ and RCREEE. Notably, he has made significant contributions to reports like REMAP2030 and the Arab Future Energy Index RE Report, further solidifying his influence in shaping the renewable energy landscape. Dr. Choukri’s practical experience extends beyond academia. He has previously served as the Head of the Wind Energy Department in the Ministry of Energy Transition in Morocco, providing him with invaluable insights into the practical implementation of renewable energy projects. In recognition of his expertise, Dr. Choukri also serves as an expert reviewer for PRIMA and GLG, a vital role in shaping the development of initiatives under the EU Commission.
