Palestinian Journalist Fellowship
About the Logic(s)-ARI: Palestinian Journalist Fellowship
“Every Palestinian is a living archive of collective memory and freedom dreamiang. Palestinian journalists provide a crucial mechanism through which these collective stories are deepened and circulated globally. With extensive military aid from the US government, Israeli Occupation Forces subject these journalists and their families to forced disappearances, imprisonment, and execution. More than ever, it is critical that journalists be anchored in the communities they report on and with, and that we act quickly to move resources to Palestinians while they are still alive. These dual commitments are what instigated Logic(s)’ development of this one-year fellowship for Palestinian journalists, co-administered with the Arab Reform Initiative.” — Logic(s) Magazine, Palestinian Journalist Fellowship
Purpose
Palestinian journalists are vital bearers of collective memory and the imaginations of freedom. Under extreme conditions , military occupation, displacement, threats to life and liberty, they persist in telling stories that global audiences must hear. This fellowship is designed to support that persistence: to redistribute resources, deepen narratives, and equip journalists to reflect on the broader technical, political, and historical terrains shaping Palestine, not just events, but the systems behind them.
Why This Fellowship Matters
This fellowship embodies our belief that democratic agency in the Arab region is sustained through those who can produce knowledge under pressure, challenge prevailing narratives, and connect lived realities to the global conversations that shape policy, technology, and justice. By investing in Palestinian storytellers now, ARI and Logic(s) affirm that these voices are indispensable to any just future—not only for Palestine, but for all communities seeking dignity, equity, and self-determination.
“This collaboration ensures those on the receiving end of technology—surveillance, censorship, and narrative control—have a bigger say in the conversation.” Nadim Houry, ARI’s Executive Director.
