Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Participate in defining and executing the financial strategy of the association.
- Develop and monitor ARI’s overall budget.
- Collaborate with the financial and program teams to develop and manage project budgets.
- Perform detailed expenditure analyses and provide accurate projections for upcoming periods.
- Manage the allocation of resources and assets, ensuring appropriate tracking and control mechanisms are in place and maintained at all levels.
- Prepare monthly ledgers and cash flow projections.
Compliance and Control
- Ensure adherence to fiscal and accounting standards and obligations.
- Implement internal control procedures and tools to minimize financial risks and ensure the association's sustainability.
Financial and Operational Management
- Implement and oversee the adoption of new accounting software to optimise the association’s financial management.
- Liaise with external accounting services responsible for data entry.
- Liaise with the external payroll management firm, providing necessary information and documents for monthly payroll processing. Ensure accurate payroll management and timely execution of payments to French authorities.
- Manage the accounting team, including a member based in Lebanon.
- Perform and monitor payments, invoicing, and bank transactions.
- Supervise the supplier selection process with team support.
Financial Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor the financial status of various programs and projects implemented by the association to ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Communicate any alerts related to program implementation and financial management to the executive director and program managers.
- Contribute to the preparation of internal and external financial reports, particularly for donors.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits.
- Ensure accounting closure at the end of the fiscal year.
Profile
With around ten years of experience in financial and accounting roles, you have held financial management positions in organizations similar to ARI, with an annual budget exceeding 2 million euros. You are familiar with donor compliance mechanisms, and have simultaneously worked with a variety of European and international donors from both the public and private sectors. Experience in organizations implementing projects in the Middle East region would be a plus.
Possessing excellent skills in financial management, accounting, and financial analysis, you also have knowledge of French and international accounting standards, as well as internal control procedures. You are agile and have a strong affinity for project management with a keen aptitude for structuring and implementing tools, particularly digital ones. Your teamwork skills, effective communication with international partners, and ability to supervise and support remote colleagues are well recognized. Rigorous and organized, you excel at leading tasks to timely completion, synthesizing informationt, and sharing key insights.
Autonomous and eager to learn collaboratively, you are proficient in French and English. Proficiency in Arabic would be a plus.
The position is based in Paris on a permanent contract (CDI) with executive status, to be filled as soon as possible.
Compensation: Based on profile and experience.
