Sarah Anne Rennick

Deputy Director
Arab Reform Initiative Team

Sarah Anne Rennick is the Deputy Director for Research and head of the Youth as Political Actors program at the Arab Reform Initiative. Her research interests lie in the areas of social movements and contentious politics; democratic transition theory; and peace and conflict studies. She is currently investigating youth political agency and transformations in the governing of youth in contexts of conflict, including a critical policy analysis of UNSCR 2250 (the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda). She is also leading research on the institutional, relational, and discursive reconfigurations produced by social and political conflicts and how these inform the possibilities for action and the capacity to achieve change among bottom-up actors. Sarah regularly conducts a variety of forms of policy outreach and public engagement, and her work emphasizes participatory research methods as part of a broader mission of engaged scholarship. She holds a dual PhD in political science from Lund University and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
